Gypsy Rose Lee

Gypsy Rose Lee, born Rose Louise Hovick on January 8, 1911, and passing away on April 26, 1970, was an American burlesque entertainer, stripper, and vedette renowned for her striptease act. In addition to her career as an entertainer, she was also an actress, author, and playwright. Her 1957 memoir became the basis for the 1959 stage musical “Gypsy.”
